Get The Money. Nothing Else Really Matters.
This will reduce your stress by 50%
Earners,
Let me hit you with something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately: when you’ve got a solid financial plan in place, the little stuff—the daily expenses, the tiny financial hiccups—becomes irrelevant. Completely irrelevant. I’m talking about getting to a point where you’ve built such a strong financial foundation that you stop sweating over every dollar spent.
When you’ve set up your investments, when you’re consistently putting away a significant portion of your income into the market, into your business, into something that’s building wealth for you—everything starts to shift. Suddenly, you’re not stressing over gas prices or groceries. Those costs? They’re just noise. Because you know, deep down, you’re playing a much bigger game.
That’s the goal. That’s the whole point of having a real financial strategy. It’s to get to a place where you don’t have to think about the price tag on every small thing. I’m at the stage now where, yes, I still check prices—but I don’t need to. I’ve built something solid enough that I can step back and not be consumed by the day-to-day financial grind. And if you’ve been following along, investing aggressively, and making smart moves—you will, too.
I was lucky enough to realize this young. If you started young (or start now), you’re on track to have more money than you’ll ever need in the next couple of years, and it’s not just because of luck (though we all owe a decent portion of our success to it). It’s because of relentless, disciplined investing and sticking to the plan. And that future? That freedom? It’s the reward for putting in the work today.
I’ve talked to you before about dying with zero, and I’m becoming more convinced of it every day. Run the numbers. Play with the compound interest calculators, do the Monte Carlo simulations. You’ll start to see what I’m talking about. Another decade, two decades of consistent investing? You’ll be unstoppable. I can’t guarantee returns…but I’m 99% confident you’ll hit your number, and when you do, the only question you’ll have left is: What do I do with all this wealth?
Growing up, money was a constant stressor in my family. Every decision, every conversation had a dollar sign attached to it. It was survival mode. But here’s the thing—you don’t have to live like that. You can take control, build a system that works for you, and move past the endless cycle of financial anxiety. I did it, and you can, too.
I’m not telling you to live some extravagant life or chase status. That’s not the point. The point is to build a life where you’re not constantly weighed down by money. Where picking up the check at dinner or filling up your tank isn’t a stressor—it’s a footnote.
If you’re investing 20%, 30%, 50% of your income, you’re setting yourself up for something incredible. You can live one hell of a life spending $100k per year. Thinking of the 4% rule, we can multiply that by 25 to get $2.5 mil. Hitting $2.5 million before 50 (hell, before 40 and below if you’re really getting after it) is absolutely within reach if you’re making the right moves now at a young age. I’m not here to promise you magic returns, but if you’re disciplined and aggressive with earning income - and patient with investing it into smart assets like Broad Market Index Funds and ETFs, I’m damn confident you’ll get there.
If you’re still paying down debt or working to get to a positive net worth, keep pushing. But if you’ve made it past that point, if you’re already building wealth—start living like it. Own your success. Own your future. And let the small stuff go.
You’re on the right track. Your biggest challenge won’t be the next bill or expense—it’ll be figuring out how to manage your success. That’s why I always say: Don’t hoard money. Use it. Share it. Give back. Once you’ve crossed that threshold, you’ll understand that the power of money isn’t in holding onto it—it’s in what you can do with it.
That’s what we work for. That’s the freedom we’re chasing. And you’re closer than you think. So get to work.
